How to Reduce how much Alcohol you drink and make healthier choices

"I went from drinking every evening to once a week and not only do I feel better but my anxiety is almost non existent "
The Story of Dawn and her Hypnosis Journey - A 5 Minute Read. 💜

This is Dawn a 64 year old lady from Hove, Dawn contacted us in early 2020 to ask for help in reducing how much she was drinking.

Dawn has given us full permission to tell her story and her journey of how she overcame her drinking habit, which in turn helped to reduce her anxiety.

"I have always drunk since a young age and I am not too fussed about totally giving up. However in the past 12 months I have noticed I have gone from drinking once or twice a week to every evening - it has become part of my daily routine.

I have always been quite an anxious person and I have noticed over the past few months my anxiety levels seem way higher, I don't feel great in general and I know that the long-term effects are all negative for me.

I am not wanting to never drink again as I am single and plan on socialising and meeting people over drinks in the future, however I just want to regain control of my habit and not feel the need to indulge every single evening.

From what we can tell this is a very common occurrence. Drinking was not a habit for Dawn, it was a means to a very quick reward: relief from stress and anxiety, escapism – whatever the ‘reward’ or reason seemed to be.

Frequent drinking can lead to feelings of low self-worth and anxiety. People think that drinking helps this. In reality it fuels these feelings.

The subconscious mind works in a similar way, however your subconscious mind controls 90% of your feelings, thoughts and influences the decisions you make.

When you are feeling anxious, stressed or depressed, your subconscious mind is searching for a solution and often turns to something that will help you to feel more relaxed and it will not always help you in making a healthy decision.

The best way to reduce a habit such as drinking is to program your subconscious mind into thinking you have always wanted the best for yourself, and you make decisions that are best for your physical wellbeing. This is what I did for Dawn.

After hearing Dawn's story, I explained to her how hypnosis will program her into feeling like she wants to make healthy decisions and improve her health and it will also take away the cravings that keep dragging her back.

I sent her our hypnotherapy audio session and she listened to it a couple of times over a week. This was the feedback we received from Dawn.

"Thank you so much! I am feeling miles better. I listened to your audio like you said and I felt calm and collected. I understand my self-worth and I am now on the lookout for things that improve my overall wellbeing. I have been drinking more water than I have ever drank in my life and also have made better choices with what I have been eating. I really cannot express enough how fabulous I feel and I really could not have done it without you. I really appreciate all your support and will happily recommend you to anyone that needs help."
